FLIP! 🔨 Project Management Skills for Kids

As a kid, I loved building forts in the backyard. Mind you, no plans were required or a lumber list to build it with wasn't necessary. I know kid have "projects" that are whimsical and only require a bit of magic, but they can serve as an opportunity to learn project skills on the fly.

That's why the Grow section of CONQUER Success Program includes Project Management Skills. There is strong relationship to the real world of starting and finishing projects such a career planning, school assignment, business startups, remodeling a home, financial planning, family vacations and everything that has steps that need to be accomplished and the materials required to make it happen.

FLIP! Project Management Skills include the following:

  1. Self-Awareness
  2. Business Writing
  3. Critical Thinking
  4. Scheduling
  5. Cost Control
  6. Leadership
  7. Communication
  8. Organization
  9. Deliverable
  10. Research

Project Management seems like a strange term to apply to helping kids get things done, but it's a very real world skill. FLIP! helps kids Read about a Project (FLIP! someone else did) and Write about a Project (FLIP! they are doing) and then Grow their Project (FLIP! expanded to its full potential).

In the spirit of Equipping Kids To Succeed, Project Management is essential. My observation is that kids can master project management skills as they Grow their FLIP! interests, passions, and ideas. In the process, they learn how to apply those skills to other real world challenges and opportunities.
